Open Positions

We do not hire skilled people and motivate them.
We hire already motived people and inspire them.

New Positions

Full Stack Developer

The São Paulo Research and Analysis Center (SPRACE, http://www.sprace.org.br) is opening a position of Full Stack Developer for an outstanding professional to work together with our Computer Science and Electrical/Computer Engineer team of researchers.

The successful candidate will work on the OpenFlow controller research and development task force of the Unesp Center for Scientific Computing. The main activities will involve the improvement of the current OpenFlow controllers' code as well as working on new architectures related to the development of Software-Defined Networking (SDN) technologies. The developer will also be in charge of evaluating the benchmarks for the most popular controllers.

The project aims to build a client-server SDN based application. In that context, he/she will be responsible for managing the interchange of data between the systems and the users with a primary focus on the development of the server-side logic, maintenance of the central database, and ensuring the high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front-end. He/she will also be responsible for integrating the front-end elements into the main application. A basic understanding of front-end technologies is therefore a requirement.

Responsibilities, skills and qualifications

We expect that the successful candidate has:

  • At least five years of relevant experience. A Master or Ph.D. degree in CS or related areas would be an asset;
  • Strong knowledge in data structures;
  • Experience on Python and on the development of Network Protocols (OpenFlow) and code versioning tools (Git/SVN);
  • Fluent English is also desirable.

The candidate will be responsible for:

  • Building reusable code and libraries for future use;
  • Understanding of repeatable automated processes for building the application, testing it, documenting it, and deploying it at scale;
  • Integration of user-facing elements developed by a front-end developer with server side logic;
  • Optimization of the application for maximum speed and scalability;
  • Implementation of security and data protection;
  • Design and implementation of data storage solutions;
  • User authentication and authorization between multiple systems, servers, and environments.

Appointment Details

The total duration of the appointment is 1 (one) year and can be renewed for another year or two. There will be a initial probationary period of 3 (three) months.

The income will depend on the qualification and previous experience of the candidate and the amount of time that he/she will dedicate to the project.

SPRACE is committed to the principles of equal opportunity and affirmative action. Applications from any sexual orientation and members of minority groups are encouraged to apply.

How to apply

Candidates must send an application letter and a résumé of work and academic experience to cs-jobs@ncc.unesp.br.

Deadline for application

The deadline is 12 March 2016. We reserve the right not to make an appointment and continue searching after the closing date. Shortlisted candidates must be available for an interview where we expect a short presentation on the previous achievements and on the proposed plan of activities.
