Guia rápido para acessar uma conferência

O acesso ao serviço para usuários registrados no Cern pode ser feito através de https://vidyoportal.cern.ch/flex.html ou pelo agendamento do Indico (http://indico.cern.ch/) Esta orientação serve para windows, mac os e linux.

1. Normalmente ao receber um convite para participar de uma conferência, há um link que leva diretamente à sala de videoconf agendada.
2. Acesse a sala agendada pelo Indico .
   
3. O aplicativo do Vidyo caso não esteja instalado em seu computador, ele pode ser automaticamente baixado e instalado ao acessar a sala agendada. Assim que a instalação finalizar já é possível visualizar o portal para entrar na conferência.
4. Entre com senha e password cadastrada no Cern e o PIN (caso seja necessário). O PIN é fornecido previamente pela pessoa que agendou a conferência
5. Se você não tiver um cadastro no Cern entre como guest: basta entrar um nome para ser identificado na sala.
   

Configurando o Vidyo

Para configurar o vidyo clique no ícone configuration:

1. Acertar áudio e microfone
   
2. Selecionar câmera
3. Selecionar "echo cancelation"

Selecione de acordo com o seu equipamento.

Use o Cafe CERN para acertar suas configurações. As instruções estão logo abaixo.

Sobre cadastro Vidyo:

Somente "Authorized Users" podem agendar videoconferências. São considerados Authorized Users aqueles que possuem afiliação ao CERN, ou seja, permitem acesso a intranet.

Atenção: Usuários cadastrados como Contas Externas do Cern têm recursos limitados não permitem acessar o Vidyo Portal.

Users: Test your setup

CERN Vidyo Café virtual room

The Café room (https://vidyoportal.cern.ch/flex.html?roomdirect.html&key=HCfF187Bk9EG) has been setup to allow you to test your local equipment and setup. If you connect to this room you will be able to see a live view of a clock and hear some background music.

This room will also feed back any audio that you send, so if you speak you will hear yourself back after a small delay. This allows you to test your microphone setup.

Please note this room is obviously not made for discussions with colleagues, as everything which is said in there will be repeated twice for the other participants.

Call a colleague

Simply log in the Vidyoportal, search the name of your colleague and call.

How to join a CMS computing shift?

Once the participation of your CMS Center has been accepted, an account will be created for your CMS Center in the CERN Vidyo network. Start using Vidyo at https://vidyoportal.cern.ch/. This page should already be opened and logged in your "shift" machine. If it's not the case please contact your local CMS Center responsible.

Note: To install the VidyoDesktop client on Linux please follow these instructions.

1) To join a shift, just go to the page mentioned above and in the field "Select From List or Enter Name to Call" enter the code 61209 and Click Call (alternatively you can also enter "CMS CSP Shifter" and choose it then from the guesses).

2) You will be asked to enter a PIN (this PIN should have been given to you by your local CMS Center responsible). Enter the PIN and click on "Enter Meeting Room".

3) A video window will pop-up and you will see a 4 split-screen with the permanent CMS Center connection. Remember that for now, by default you are sending video and audio. Please mute your microphone (by clicking in the microphone button in the uppper bar) if you don't want your audio to be sent.

4) Very Important: At the end of your shift please disconnect your Vidyo Client window (by clicking in the button on the top right corner). This will prevent video from being sent when another shifter from another center joins in. Do not logoff the vidyo portal webpage.

O que é o Vidyo

• O Vidyo é um sistema de videcoconferência de alta definiçao. O CERN adquiriu a licença plena para até 50 mil usuários com forte integração com o Indico. Nesse sentido, o CERN passa aos poucos do EVO para o Vidyo.

• Portal de acesso

• Todos que têm CERN ID e foram cadastrados antes de 2012 têm conta nos servidores do Vidyo. Para conferir basta acessar cern.ch/cernaccount, fazer o login e em seguida clicar no menu Applications and Resources. Em Special Services deve aparecer: Vidyo -> Subscribed. Ao dar login no portal, o usuário fica online no sistema e pode ser contactado por outros através de uma conexão ponto a ponto, ou então criar uma sala virtual e convidar outros a entrar na sala dele. Ele funciona muito bem e é bem intuitivo.

• Quem não tem CERN ID pode participar de conferências como guest, mas precisa receber o link da sala. No entanto, é possível cadastrar usuários com direitos especiais, que não têm CERN ID mas estão ligados a atividades técnico-científicas em grupos de pesquisa ligados ao CERN. Essa possibilidade foi aberta para permitir que administradores de sistema possam interagir com o Vidyo num nível mais elevado que o de 'guest'.
