P.S. I just read the description of the plot on Wiki - indeed it appears that you used calorimeter-only MET, so for the 4mu channel it's simply dominated by the detector resolution for a generic minbias event. In the case of electrons, you basically get MET equal in magnitude and opposite in direction to the transverse energy of the Z decaying into two electrons, hence such a tail.
